We bring together skill sets developed in television production, interactive design, software development, network integration, technology-based education and training, and print-based solutions. We are currently seeking instructional designers for an [insert months] contract with an immediate start. An experienced instructional designer, you will liaise with clients, subject experts, project managers and developers to design and scriptwrite educational resources that really make a difference. Take the lead in creating instructional strategies and selecting the appropriate media mix to make learning both effective and fun. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and you must have solid experience in developing the instructional designs for media rich educational materials. Key requirements of the role: • Excellent multimedia scriptwriting, editing and proofreading skills • Excellent interpersonal communication skills • High standard of English • Innovative thinking • Knowledge of educational theory • Knowledge of instructional design methodology • Attention to detail • Flexible attitude • Good time management • Basic project management skills You will know how to develop accessible Web sites and comply with current standards and guidelines. Specifically, you will understand: Why accessibility matters to everyone, not just those with disabilities The major disabilities and challenges: what they are and what technologies are typically used to mitigate them W3C checkpoints Common Look and Feel standards and guidelines Specific technologies and design techniques used to satisfy accessibility concerns Testing frameworks for accessibility issues How to make PDF files more accessible Where accessibility meets usability Other required skills include: Experience with wireframe, application flow development, prototype construction and form design. The individual in this role must be comfortable with writing functional and design specifications. These are office-based instructional design positions. Experience in creating accessible, standards based e-learning would be useful. Knowledge of multimedia development tools is not an essential requirement for the role.
