Colchester Gay Switchboard’s magazine is relaunching this Summer and we would love your input!
The magazine will be in a new glossy full colour A5 handbag sized format and will be distributed in gay venues across Essex and South Suffolk, sitting alongside titles like G3, Boyz and The Pink Paper. We are working towards the relaunch issue being available from July 1st 2008.
‘The Journal’ has been an important source of news & information for CGS since 1993 & the relaunch title ‘Outhouse’ will continue this in 2008 in a made over format to be distributed on a larger scale of 2000 copies. As a developing freelancer, a published article can enhance your CV/portfolio or as an established freelancer, you might simply want to do something for fun or to contribute to your community!
Contributions are really welcome for creative or factual articles or smaller features, such as pieces about anything going on at CGS, historical, personal, travel, gardening, health, film/music/tv/book reviews, reports on local venues (bars, restaurants, hotels, campus/society events…) or events, something aimed at women, men, bisexuals, transgendered, old, young or broad appeal... If you’re not sure if your idea’s right for Outhouse, have a chat with us anyway!
We require writers, but also would like to hear from any illustrators, designers or photographers. Contributions will be unpaid, however all work is fully credited providing an invaluable opportunity to showcase you and your work to a wide LGBT audience. Also, for contributors with a professional or business interest in the topic they cover is the option to display an advert within our pages.
