SWR Media is a Cambridgeshire based publishing company that project manages, publishes and designs a number of publications and magazines. We are looking for young, talented people based anywhere in the UK to work freelance from home, or occasionally from our offices in South Cambridge. If based far from our offices then no in-office projects will be given – so don’t worry!
We are a small company made up from people from all sorts of backgrounds so do not worry about qualifications or experience. If you are ready and able to work, and have an impressive CV then please get in touch.
We are seeking people who work with the Adobe Creative Suite 2 package (on PC or Mac) to join our team. Your duties will range vastly from creating and designing magazine features, to managing regular sections and updating template driven pages.
If you have a flare for anything in particular whether image-manipulation, vector drawing and so forth please mention this in your application as it’s the sort of thing we want in our people!
You MUST be competent using and installing post script fonts, FTP transfers and Adobe’s Photoshop and InDesign CS2.
Applicants will be given a demonstration pack and brief including example features from previous editions of the magazines we work with, and a zip file including images, an article and a design brief. We will be accepting applications based on the quality of the feature you send back, and the speed in which it is completed. This balance is vital to us.
When sending the PDF feature back you will be expected to include a portfolio of some of your other, original work.
Our rates of pay vary depending on which publication you end up working on. We have a variety of magazines and in most cases will start you on one of our contract magazines and allow you to work your way up to our flagship luxury lifestyle magazine which is read by thousands of rich and important people across the globe.
