Title: Lead web developer
Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience – up to £35,000 pa.
Contract term: 6 months initially possibly leading to a permanent contract
Hours: 5 days a week, 9am-5pm
The Role
A unique opportunity to 'make your mark'! Reporting to the Directors of the company, your role will be to lead the web development aspect of our successful agency. You will be expected to guide the company and take on responsibilities for keeping Pedalo up-to-date with current technologies and application developments. The successful candidate will be keen to take the lead and possess a passion for technical investigation and problem solving. Candidates will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial environment. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to take that next step up, taking on responsibilities and rising to the challenge.
The initial contract will be for 6 months with an eye to becoming permanent. Initial responsibilities will include the design and development a new ASP.net CMS solution ready for launch early next year and support of our current classic ASP applications.
Skills and Experience
You will have 5 years proven commercial development experience developing web-based applications from CMS solutions to e-commerce systems capable of dealing with high transaction volumes. Your experience will enable you to avoid problems before they arise and choose the best development path for any given project. You will have a solid knowledge of :
• ASP.Net
• Classic ASP
• C# and/or VB
• SQL 2000
• IIS
• HTML
• XML
• XHTML
• Javascript
The ideal candidate will also have:
• Experience with the complete project development life cycle
• Excellent technical communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with employees of diverse job functions, skill levels and cultures
• Document authoring skills on technical and test specs
• Technical design and effective use of design/solution patterns
• Exposure to other software, programming languages and data manipulation and presentation technologies
• You will also have experience of Windows 2000/2003 server configuration
• A good working knowledge of PHP and MySQL would also be an advantage
