Digital Fibre Limited is an exciting young web development company, with most clients being bluechip. We are currently looking for a skilled developer to assist in moving the company into the next phase of growth. This is an exciting and interesting career opportunity for the right person to work with cutting edge technology in a fun & exciting company in a friendly work environment.
Job Spec:
Experienced LAMP developer required to further develop and maintain a revolutionary new e-commerce system in tandem with the current developer, as well as other projects (mainly microsites to support marketing activity for our bluechip clients).
Essential Skills:
- PHP5 & sound understanding of OOP programming
- Excellent understanding and experience using MySQL 5 as a relational database
- Experience maintaining and optimising a Linux server running Apache
- Excellent working knowledge and solid experience of Smarty or equivalent
- Good working knowledge of CSS, XHTML and Javascript
- Experience with creating accessible web layouts
- GCSE or equivalent in English
Preferable:
- Understanding of Regular Expressions
- Understanding of apache mod_rewrite and ability to create dynamic, SEO-friendly URLs in combination with this
- Experience with SVN, Trac and phpDocumentor
- Experience with database optimisation
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience with Flash (AS2 / 3)
- Experience with shell scripting
- Ability to produce FSDs
Location: Tring, Hertfordshire
Job type: Full time 12 month contract with view to permanent
Salary: up to £30,000 p.a + potential bonus
