A printing company wants to develop a Web site to both promote their range of products and services and gradually develop an E-Print facility where customers obtain quotations and place orders and even submit their work on-line.
As one of the key activities of the company is the design of various types of publications ranging from brochures and posters to books, the company requires a site reflecting its design abilities.
In short it requires a high level of interactivity and graphical presentation of information. Using layering techniques, pop-up menus, quotation forms, etc are among the ideas considered.
You are required to develop the site, using a variety of tools and techniques.
1. You must carry out research on similar companies to see what is available in the market.
2. Your site design should show a wide range of techniques used including, Pop-up windows, Banners, Special Promotion, Rollover effects, E-Commerce utilities (you should also use either cgi or javascript).
3. In your design you could make extensive use of graphics either developed by yourself using other packages or freeware artwork from on-line libraries.
4. You should produce a design and development chart based on your research from other site. (i.e. various features that the site includes: About the Company, Gallery, Special Offers, etc…)
