Interactive Flash calculators
posted on 27/11/2002Our new financial services Web site requires 10 interactive Flash calculator modules to be developed. The purpose of each is to allow a user to enter the required financial data over a series of 'screens,' and then the module calculates their financial needs.
For example, the insurance calculator will allow the user to enter their total mortgage debts in screen 1, and then they move onto screen 2 to enter any other debts (car loans, credit cards, etc.). Next, at screen 3, the user enters the age of any children who are entering full time education. These data entry screens continue until the 10th screen, where all the saved variables are calculated to provide an analysis of their financial needs in both textual and graphical formats.
Other calculators include mortgage payments and retirement pensions. Each Flash module must load relatively quickly, even on a dial-up Internet connection, and should not use a pre-loader. There will be a restart button on each screen, allowing the user to start afresh and reset all variables. As you will guess, these modules will involve complicated calculations, but with the actual arithmetic already carried out by us, you just have to create the design and scripting to make it all work together, interactively.
We are accepting reasonable bids from freelancers and SME Web development companies. Please provide an accurate quote and an estimated timescale. Since each module will have the same design and layout and a relative size and complexity, please provide a flat charge per module and multiply it by ten for the total cost of this project.
