Discussion forum & auction site build required
posted on 12/5/2004Essentially a discussion forum (a bit like this one in fact), with additional bidding / auction functionality. Project will involve design, build, co-ordination of site registration etc - basically taking the idea from paper to reality.
Site structure:
1. Homepage
1.1. shows scrolling & searchable list of discussions currently submitted by users, with direct access to text from page, dependent on user¡¦s registration plus tabs to further sections below:
1.2. Registration & user profile
1.2.1. User submits personal details (contact info, credit card details (not required until payments are made or received) and preferred categories (discussed under item 4 below)
2. My feedback & Rating
2.1. Rating as defined by other users as a % of total discussions entered
3. About / tutorial
3.1. Basic visual & textual description of the site use
4. Submit discussion
4.1. user then selects from large (at least 500, with flexibility to grow by design of site owner) list of predefined grouped categories, each of which is linked to other users¡¦ profiles and will generate an immediate e-mail alert including link back to specific site discussion
Functionality requirements
„h Robust database capable of manipulating & storing >1,000,000 personal details with multiple simultaneous access & manipulations
„h Paypal or similar e-commerce (international) between users
„h Secure discussion board with storage of all discussions for future access by specified users
„h Search by page & section (sections explained)
„h Secure password access to individual user profiles
„h Secure ¡¥Bidding¡¦ auction
„h Reciprocal peer rating system and feedback (similar to Ebay)
„h E-mail notification ¡¥alerts¡¦ from site to users dependent on user¡¦s profile settings
„h Registration including secure credit card capture
