Urgent Ecommerce web site for UK Greeting card companyposted on 19/5/2004Urgent job - you must be able to start the job immediately, design concept pages required 1 week from project start, project beta test site required within 1 month of project start. If you can't make these tight deadlines please don't bid. This project is to create a new ecommerce web site for my customer, a small United Kingdom Greeting Card publisher. They already have a basic html web site and that will remain separate from this site. Hosted on my dedicated server running Linux, Apache, and PHP. I will order a new domain name, IP address and SSL certificate for the site. The site will also be developed on this server. Product catalogue and shopping cart, the product catalogue should be available to all visitors but prices and the shopping cart should only be available to registered business customers, with usernames and passwords issued by my customer. No payment gateway is required as all shopping cart users already have trade credit accounts. Unregistered trade customers can apply for an account online, the request is notified to the site administrator by email, the account approval and password-issuing process is done by the site admin on the backend of the site. ASCII file upload of existing customers with usernames and passwords plus name and address details. Both first upload to star site off and weekly uploads to add new customers. ASCII file upload of Product details, this will delete the existing product database on the site and replace it with the new details from the ASCII file. Http Upload of Product images, product images will have filename same as Product code in Products ASCII file, two images per product: thumbnail and full size, thumbnails in "thumbnails" ftp folder and full size in "full-size" ftp folder. Admin may use ftp to bulk upload large numbers of images. Customer login will be Customer account code and Postcode, both from ASCII file, then customer enters email address and password, new password is emailed to the specified address with an http activation link to click on to activate the account. Forgot password, enter registered email address and password is emailed to it. Forgot registered email address, have to telephone and ask admin. Optional feature - please quote separately: Store locator. Map of UK, click on Map displays list of registered Customers in that region with name, address, telephone number. Optional feature - please quote separately: Store locator. Enter town, displays list of registered Customers in that town with name, address, and telephone number. There is credit limit checking in the Shopping Cart, any registered customer can place an order up to the value specified on their record. Product catalogue is divided by: Product category e.g. Range A, Range B, Range C Occasion e.g. General Birthday, Mothers Day, Fathers Birthday Season e.g. Everyday, Christmas, and Easter, Mothers day Theme e.g. Golf, Birds Shopping cart orders are stored on the site database plus emailed to the site admin with the order as an attached file in a specified CSV file format. Approximately 5,000 Registered Customers Approximately 3,000 Products No discounts required; all orders are at list price. Order option for packing method e.g. Wrapped, Unwrapped. This setting is stored on the Customer record but may be overridden on each order. This setting is the same for all cards on an order, not different for each line of an order. All list prices are before Sales tax; Sales tax depends on the Country field on the Customer record. For Customers in the UK (99% of the customers) the tax is 17.5%, this must be shown separately at the bottom of the order, e.g. Total before tax, tax amount, Total including tax. Carriage is free of charge for order value over £120; otherwise carriage charge is £4.40 plus VAT (Sales tax). Customers can type in product code or search on Product code or browse through catalogue to add a card to the cart. Product search by Product code (or part of code) and/or category (drop down) and/or occasion (drop down) and/or Season (drop down) and/or Theme (drop down) Catalogue and Search display thumbnail images of matching products, images are VERY important, more important than most online catalogues because Greeting cards are a visual product. When Customer selects a product to add to the cart the default quantity comes from the Product record e.g. 6, the customer can change the quantity but only in whole multiples of the default quantity E.g. default quantity is 6, acceptable quantities are 6, 12, 18, 24, etc E.g. default quantity is 12, acceptable quantities are 12, 24, 36, 48, etc E.g. default quantity is 1, acceptable quantities are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc The cart line displays the quantity, the unit price; the extended price (=quantity * unit price); VAT (sales tax - depends on Country of customer, all UK customers are 17.5%) (=Extended price * sales tax %), total (=extended price + VAT). The cart displays the totals of all lines for Extended, VAT and Total. Click Checkout displays summary of the order with Print button to print it, Confirm button to confirm the order, Orders are saved on the site between sessions, customer might start an order 1 day, edit it another day and Confirm it another day. When an order is confirmed it is given a unique sequential number, site admin can specify the next number to be used. The site send a short notification email to the admin to say an order has been placed, this does not contain all the order details, just customer name and total order value. The admin can set the email address plus switch these emails on/off on the site backend. Backend of site has button to http download file containing orders as CSV file to the office. Admin specifies which orders to include by order number range or date range and/or already downloaded yes/no. When an order is downloaded the order download field is set to "yes". The site pages will display card images from the best sellers list, images displayed will rotate on each page impression so that all cards in list get same exposure, admin maintains the best sellers list of product codes on the site backend. The text and static images in the site pages will be content managed. A "retail" version of the product catalogue pages will be linked to from the existing retail web site; these pages will have no price information or shopping cart. The site does not have to manage stock control and display quantities of cards available. The "Available" field on the Product record indicates whether a card can be added to the cart. If a visitor clicks on a card there is a "Similar" button, this will do a Product search for cards in the same range, season and occasion. Typical orders have 20 to 30 products per orders, large orders could have 100 lines on the one order. We are no longer accepting applications for this project. |
