Music Download Store
posted on 26/5/2004Got some more details about the project. Its basically a site where people can open a free membership, and then download music files, and talk to each other about the music, and order some goods related to the music.
When the site owners add new music files they want to do it through an interface that will automatically add it to the music DL section. Alongside that they want a forum for people to chat about music which I am guessing something readymade can be used (like IHY).
Lastly, a store page from they will sell some music related goods like t-shirts, caps, etc, with a standard shopping cart system, integrated with a payment processor like 2co.

On the front end design side of things I think you can work out what’s necessary yourself, its quite simple not really a design, mainly some forms and the music download section.
Ø Administration Backends > orders (simiar to QAR) & members (search, sort, update, manage, view, etc)
Ø Integrate with front end forms (sign-ups artists / members)
Ø Music download section sorted by artist name
Ø Forum setup
Ø Interface for owner to add (upload) new music automatically to the music DL section
Ø Store ordering page with cart and 2co integration
Ø Minimal front end work (popups, contact page, navigation)
There maybe other things that I have forgotten to mention such as > news ticker on home page, you know imagine for a music site they would need news about the latest tracks, hottest artists, etc. And other standard things like a contact page.
