Freelance 3D artist/animator
posted on 24/5/2006A 3D Studio Max specialist with ideally previous experience of working on point of sale and retail environments. Someone who knows how objects should look in motion if they are to be convincing.
Directly reporting to:
• Senior Multimedia Designer
Expectations:
Below is a non-exhaustive list of the Company’s expectations of the Freelance 3D artist/animator
• Creating high quality 3D animations for a retail environment.
• Modelling and animating 3D elements and effects to a high standard.
• High definition modelling and animation
• Knowledge of what works for a 3D animation within a screen based design.
Essential Qualities:
• Professional knowledge of 3D Studio Max
• A degree in animation/an art background is advantageous
• Knowledge of character animation skills a bonus but not essential.
• Need to be able to apply modelling techniques and to optimise animation within design constraints
• High quality modelling skills are essential and 2D skills would be an advantage
• Camera and sequence direction skills advantageous
• A strong vision for how an animation should move and behave
• A strong eye for detail
• The ability to work effectively in a marketing environment by collaborating with a lead designer.
Packages to know: 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, and a Video package would be advantageous.
