Video Playback for web

We wish to explore various ways of adding video playback to a clients website e.g. flash ,wav, etc
Our aim is to explore the various options and present these to our client. We use a non-streaming server so playback performance is the most important factor.
As our client may in the near future regularly require this video playback facility we are looking to build a relationship with a freelancer who is able to take on these jobs for us when required.
If you have knowledge in media playback or flash video playback. Please get in touch with examples of your work and estimates of costing (further information can be provided at this point).
