Why shouldn't this hold up to scrutiny?
I had a good laugh the other day when I heard someone proselytising about a
*new* marketing idea that would *change the world of business forever*. I
forget the name of the thing, but it's basically a club which meets once a
week for a 7am breakfast meeting, the point of which is to pass work on to
the other club members. You have to pay to be in this club (they call them
"chapters" - very masonic ...) and turn up every week without fail or you're
out. It's formalised networking in other words.
What made me laugh is that this method of doing business comes quite
naturally to some of us - there's nothing new in it at all - it's called
co-operation.
As I said in my first post, there's plenty of work out there for all of us.
As technologies advance and proliferate, we're all having to specialise.
There's nothing new about working together - just like the web, it's the way
forward. My £0.02.
