OK, The intro bandwagon is rolling ... let's hop on.
Hi my name is Shawn and I have left my company to start a web business of my
own. In order to keep it going (how I miss the loads of development money in
a large company) I am also doing freelance work. My skills are Asp, SQL
(particularly SQL Server), VB and then the usual HTML, Javascript, XML,
DHTML ... any other L's?
Dan, you have all the resources you need to setup a skills database, the
people who want it are even able to do it for you. The only problem is
logistics.
Speaking of which, I wonder if freelancers lurking around a freelance site
is still not a bit nebulous. Yea, networking is very effective but is their
not a bit more we could do to jointly get ourselves work. We have
programmers, graphics types, database boffins, project managers and perhaps
even an accountant amongst us. In short we have a 'company'. Maybe a bit of
co-ordination in the tackling of projects and some joint marketing could do
the trick.
Unlike the 7am meeting post this one was made stone cold sober so I can't
back out of it :-)
Shawn
