I can't comment on the HTML, not being a web designer, but one suggestion I
have from looking at the site is to include a link on the left-hand menu bar
to something like 'Prices' or 'All Prices.' This gives the hurried surfer a
quick way to check prices without having to spend time navigating around the
site.
I know some people think that including a quick way to get at the prices
without 'forcing' them to be exposed to your sales spiel can cost you
customers, but in my (humble) opinion by doing this you are appealing to two
different types of client. Most people who are looking for a hotel are going
to base their decision on things like what the rooms are like, is it in a
nice location, do the rooms have certain facilities. These clients will
spend time looking around the site, as they want as much information as
possible.
The other type of client will buy solely on price no matter what you do,
they will often be in a hurry and won't spend time looking around a site for
prices, if they can't get them straight away (preferably one click from the
front page) they will go onto the next site in the search engine listings -
by placing a link in the left-hand menu bar to a prices page you also cater
to these clients (and there is nothing to stop you putting a couple of
images of the hotel and its rooms on the prices page), especially since the
prices seem to be pretty good (although my experience here is a bit
limited).
Of course if anyone has an alternative viewpoint I'd be interested to hear
about it.
Cheers,
Alex Rose.
