There's options in the latest versions to prevent you receiving messages
from anyone except those already authorised on your contact list. And of
course you don't have to supply your real email address when you sign on, or
can hide it afterwards.

I've had the same account for 5 years or so and it's managable. Anyone who
keeps pestering me I try to out-weird and they soon disappear. I feel a lot
sorrier for women though. Not sure if for males to use it being 14 and
desperate for female contact is a requirement or not, but it seems so...
