Mailshots
date posted 13th January 2001 11:50
I have a requirement to send out a mailshot to a large number of e-mail
addresses, but I'm not sure of the best and quickest method of doing this.
The email addresses will be gathered from various sources, probably being
pasted into a Word document (but it doesn't have to be a Word document).
Then I will want to send a standard e-mail to each of these addresses.
Ideally the email will show only the email address of the recipient rather
than all the email addresses to which it has been sent.
I've looked at importing a Word file (in CSV format) into the Outlook address
book and adding these addresses into a mailgroup, which looks af it will work
OK, the only drawback being that I will need to put the mailgroup in the :bcc
field in order to avoid each recipient being presented with a long list of
all recipients' email addresses. By using the :bcc field, the receiving email
address appears as 'Undisclosed Recipients' which is acceptable although not
ideal.
Is this the best method or are there alternatives? I'm looking for any
approach that doesn't involve too much programming effort.
Any advice gratefully recieved.
Many thanks,
Ian
