It won't go down well on this forum, but your job as a copywriter is
to please the client, not the designer. If the client is happy to
approve plain text copy, fine. I suspect they'll want to see more than
that. I think they'll like your text better if it looks like the
finished item.
If you're writing with bullet points, subheads, indents etc, you have
to communicate them. You can do it with comments in brackets: [bullet
points follow] [heading] [subheading] [paragraph indented] -- or you
can format the text to reflect the message you're trying to get
across.
And what package are clients most familiar and most comfortable with?
Word of course.
