Re[2]: FN-FORUM writing for web

date posted 15th January 2001 18:52

Hello,

I have lurked for a while, and have enjoyed some of hte discussions.
But would like to join in... this time atleast. Usualy im content
with just reading:)

Have you ever played pictionary? There is one in there "cyberspace".
It is not easy to draw cyberspace. and everyones mind associates
differant imagery with differant words or concepts. depnds where they
are from and what tey know or think they know etc...

so, using a picture instead of words, usualy does work, but it isnt
100% and some where someone is going to takes its meaning to be
something other than what you intended.

a picture can be misleading, as it might be interpreted differantly
to its meaning.

i call a cup a mug. to me they are the same thing. if someone drew a
mug, id call it a mug. if someone drew a cup, id call it a mug. a cup
and mug are not the same thing. if you drew a sourcer with it, then
it would be a cup and a sourcer. but it wouldnt be a cup. it would be
two things and not one....hmmmm.... bad example maybe.

hope i havnt made a fool of myself....

take care,
Rob.
