I wont comment about you posting in HTML but I'm sure that was an
oversight by you and it won't happen again.
Now as to ownership of ideas. You can't patent an "idea" in the UK so
protection of that idea is nigh on impossible. What you should do is
make sure that anyone that you deal with signs a Non Disclosure
Agreement (I have one you can adapt if you want) and that the code
that makes your idea into reality is your copyright. So even if the
idea is not protectable the actual process of bringing that idea to
fruition is.
Of course the most important thing to do is make sure you take proper
legal advice and to employ the services of reputable coders (from
freelancers.net) that you can trust will not stab you in the back.
Good luck

Subject: FN-FORUM Online material rights and ownership
Anyone know anything about ownership of ideas on the internet or
anywhere I can find out about this sort of thing?
Ie if I have an idea for a site, can I stop people from copying me or
stealing my fire?
..or does this all come down to the internet once again being a
'freedom of speech machine'?
