I charge 20%-40% deposit up front depending on the size of the job
and how much I trust the client. Most serious clients will have budgeted
for this.
If this is unacceptable, then make them completely aware that the
site remains your property until it is fully paid for, and you retain the right
to disable it if they don't pay on time
