Okay, so maybe these people over-reacted, but no one wants that kind
of message in a newsgroup -- unless it's a response to a specific
question. The only way to get a plug in a newsgroup is to join in the
discussions. When the group know you're one of them, they'll be a
little more forgiving of your self-promotion -- providing the plug is
relevant to a newsgroup thread.
