Re: FN-FORUM help and advice

I am very surprised that you are unable to find any work.. I've taken a look
at your site and as far as I can see it's fine...infact it's better than
some of the designers work for me do at times (it's ok - I don't mean you
Ben!) :-)
Maybe it could be down to the content of your CV - from my personal
experience, the market is very waring of taking on new graduates with no
'commercial' experience - so the only thing I can really suggest is to
'flesh' out the content of your CV, putting more depth into any freelance
bits of work you've done rather than the emphasis on your education...if you
can prove you've got *some* commercial experience in one way or another that
you are more 'employable'.
Don't fall into the trap of lying in your CV though... don't put things down
that you can't do... but it's ok to exaggerate a little...as long as you can
back it up with the knowledge / knowhow.
If you want, email me your CV offlist and I'll take a look at it / give you
some advice on it...
I'm assuming that since you graduated from Glasgow Uni - you're in
Scotland... if thats the case - I may be able to put you in touch with some
agencies who may be able to place you in some contract/fulltime work... I'm
constantly in talks with them as I'm their technical partners... it's
entirely up to you.
Either way good luck with whatever you decide.
PS: It may be that you are phrasing your job requirements incorrectly... as
a web developer, in essence is a Technical programmer who can provide
scripting etc.... if you're into Flash and the such - you are more of a web
designer - just a thought!
HTH,
Carl.
