Hi Jeremy.
You have little to concern yourself over.. Youll find plenty of work.
Judging by your site youv'e got the skills set. I think for a guy your age
( I'm making assumptions.) you would get a lot from immersing yourself in
all thats cool on the internet. I mean the very best style wize.
You may have seen it http://www.linkdup.com
Regarding a commercial legup I am in pretty much the same situation. I
found that its easy enough to get the work. You just need to let people know
that you can do it cheaper and probably better than the web companies (and
you probably can.). Talk about it all the time. Tell anyone what you do
and convince yourself you ARE a website freelance designer. You'd be amazed
how many people believe it. You may take a bit longer to believe it but if
you have a couple of sites then thats what you are.
Look at the companies in your lacal area and think of the ones you could do
a website for. They have thought of it for sure and have probably even
picked up the phone to do something about it, but when the quote from the
agency came in they shelved the idea. You then become the caped crusader.
They will pay you a few hundred quid for a simple site..... I promise. Once
you have a couple of those youll find (tada) you have the commercial
experience. The key is to talk to people.... Ask Ruth about her T-Shirt
(pleease can I have a picture.)
Lastly. Stick with the forum and don't lurk. I am in a very similar
situation to yours and would have been buggered without it many times.
Bob..
