Access connection numbers
date posted 30th March 2001 13:05
Hi all
I'm in the middle (well the middle of the start) of putting together a small
scale shopping cart system. I've decided to go with a DB based approach to
it (ie baskets are stored as temporary tables stored in the db) and was
looking at what DB to use. Now my understanding of Access is that it can
support up to 12 concurrant users at a push (using dsnless connections), but
that 4 is a more realistic number. However I've just been looking at db
comparisons on mysql.com (http://www.mysql.com/information/crash-me.php) and
it seems to be saying that Access 2k can support 64 concurrant connections
out of the box.
Up until now I've only been working with Access97, is there really such a
huge performance difference when using Access 2k?
