Re: FN-FORUM MySQL Question

darren there never was a 'real' english, we're mainly descended from
millinnia of immigrants from prehistoric eurasian settlers to the nordic
tribes to the romans. whats happening now is that we're coming more varied.
there has been an almost constant influx of new people and ideas for over 5
centuries now.
i hear a lot about the 'empire' and 'imperial measurements' being held up as
some shining example of sunny english day and its all bullshit - we signed
up in the 1800's (1886 i think) for the gradual implementation of SI units
to replace the increasingly ludicrous and highly impractical imperial
measurements to the more advanced metric scale.
the empire was an overbearing and dictatorial system that destroyed a great
deal of africa and asia as we and other european nations battled for
supremecy over resources while the natives suffered, they had christendom
inflicted upon them as well as new boundaries and borders destroying a
geopolitical systems that had been relatively stable for centuries. im not
even going to go into the local science we oblitered in the name of
'progress'
the empire was a haven for bullies, peodophiles and rapists during the
hypocritical victorian times and when it collpased we left the resulting
mess for others to deal with and our proud empire invented concetration
camps to shove the boers into.
even today that imperial arrogance abounds as many football supporters seem
to think england are a great football team despite the fact its been 35
years since we won the world cup. we've trained the likes of idi amin and
jump to americas commands.
btw, national pride was behind the rise of the nazis - the treaty of
versailles left the already shattered germany even worse off while the
french stole what they wanted from german energy reserves, the germans
though the jew was behind their every ill (a bit like many brits when europe
and immigration is mentioned) which is why they liked the national socialism
so much. so beware that hubris, it can lead to a repeat of past evils.
also for any anti-europeans, go see inner-city refurbishments, new
developments and also the influx of eduactional courses available to people
who would normally not be able to attend. note the blue rectangle eith
'ESA' on it.
sermon over! :) (abck to the usual now? as i doubt this is the forum for
such a debate!)
