No, Kathy's in depth suggestions didn't help (tho she's kindly offered to
come over the water and have a look - I'll ring you on Tues Kathy ;-)
Can there be an LPT1 virus??

I don't believe this...

Paul (White) had problems with his Epson printer on Wednesday - LPT1
disappearing from Sys Properties - and now the same thing's happened to
me!!! LOL

Oh gawd, I really need to print off this birthday card...oh flip...must
search for Kathy's suggested solution...*panic*
