Hmmm

I've just wasted some time and found that the images are coming from a
sub directory off:

http://thumbnail.eu.altavista.com

(which gives you random thumbnails)

So AltaVista is grabbing an image from your site and dropping it into
it's database and pushing it out on results pages.

I can't find any other information on how or why.

I'm not sure I'm too happy - they seem to grab a random image off the
page, in some cases I've seen it's part of a sliced image!

some of the links returned for a search for my site (boldfish) have
logo's of my competition!

Not sure this is a *good thing*


I think AltaVista should explain itself and make it possible for us to
control which image or not is displayed against our results.

I see trouble ahead.............
