Database Hell

Has anyone tried to use that Ultradev shopping cart and got it working?

I had this working well ona mockup site. Today I just added lots of things
to the database via importing from my list on excel.

When i send a cateogory to the results page i.e 2 for modems it shows all
modems but then carries on down the list.

Any ideas as to how to sort this little pain out.
