We have Cable modem, from NTL. Apart from the problem from the
installer guessing the signal level and over attenuating the
connection (which took an engineer two minutes to sort out) we have
had constant up-time ever since - no loss of service and 50 kB
transfer speed is not unusual. They do however seem to send out bills
every month, and separately for modem, telly and phone - which seems
stupid, though it means we can pay the phone and modem through the
business which is handy.
