Re: FN-FORUM btinternet unmetered access

Hi Jeremy
£10 a month, plus a minimum of £10 a month on phone calls, plus the line
rental (it actually isn't that much more expensive to get a cable modem
instead).
I've been with Telewest for about a year and a bit, and it's saved me a lot
of money. Unfortuantly for me the service has gone down hill recently. I
used to always get a very good connection, 54666, but since they changed
their modem racks at my local POP this has dropped right down to about
45333. To make matters worse they've limited the number of calls that can
be made from any region to a different POP, so if you're local POP goes down
(and it seems to happen quite a bit to the Outer London one) you have little
chance of getting through to a different POP. Their news server has also
been rubbish of late, but they've just put in a lot of new hardware and it
now appears to fly.
They do have some excellent CS servers, with a very friendly little crowd
playing on them (and yes I'm a regular there).
Norman

TeleWest - and I just hate BT at the moment - can you believe that if you
move house, you cannot take the number with you?
