Re: FN-FORUM Another Question!

Hmm, I'm confused or maybe it's just the way I read
it but, and correct me if I'm wrong, I can use Freeserve any time to upload
to my sites (I'm using Fasthosts too) and they are updated immediately (unless
I don't use refresh,(ah that might be why my record updates aren't working)).
Is the cache thing just an ADSL problem then? Which makes me wonder, apart
from the fast upload and download, major bonus, whether it's worth getting
ADSL with Freeserve, if your working isn't the fact you can't see your updates
a bit of a bummer.

Another question !I use Freeserve Plus as my ISP - great speed with ADSL incidentally.Evidently, Freeserve use 'transparent caching' on their servers which wouldappear to be the reason why updates that I upload to our site (hosted byFasthosts) aren't visible to me for anything up to 24 hours. This, ofcourse, is a complete pain in the proverbial - when I first encountered it,I spent a complete afternoon uploading, downloading, cursing, etc trying tofigure out the cause.According to Freeserve I can add some code into each page that will preventtheir servers from caching the pages, or will limit the amount of time theirservers will cache the pages for? Needless to say they don't know what thecode is!Does anybody out there know about this, or has encountered similar problemsand know of a way of resolving them?!Thanks for any help.CheersKerry
