Ah, they said that in April also. So I got it (free for a bit, so why
not). So far it hasn't generated any business for me...

Hi all

Just had a call from a typical sales person (borders on recruitment
agent tactics) at scoot (obviously since I submitted another site to
them).

Apparently they are launching 'version 2' of their site and I was
fortunate enough to have submitted on the last day of their current
special (you know where I got that one from, hey?)

They promise a 3 month, free of charge, no obligation trial. ???

After this period users are charged as follows:

£ 200.00 sign-up fee
£ 1.00 per phone call they put in touch with you
£ 0.40 per visitor they refer to your web site. (fortunately we can
check on this one via our stats)

You have to sign a contract and also a standing order to be eligible for
this ???

I know this was asked before, and the results were not in scoot's
favour, but what are experienced users' opinions on this service.

I also have had a site with them for about 18 months now and in all this
time they still have not managed to fix the URL, so obviously they can't
charge me for the visitors there, he he he.

Seems a little harsh being charged a sign-up fee as well as the
referrals.

Let's see if this is a wise move or not.
