UPDATE: Collaborative Working
date posted 12th July 2001 11:45
Hi,
Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you all on this... been absolutely snowed under this past few months (a good thing).
Right, the update. Gavs at the stage where he is needing to get some people together. At the moment it's just designers, but he will be looking for other skill sets real soon now.
He posted a heads-up in the project section yesterday, but it doesn't seem to have come through (Dan.... is it broken?), so I can't point you to it at the minute. I've attached his outline below, so if you're interested please get in contact with him at [EMAIL REMOVED] (not me.... I'm too busy and will probably throw things at you). Off list as well if you could.
I think thats it. If you know of any designers who might be interested and who wouldn't normally look at the freelancers list, then please feel free to forward this on to them.
Garrett.

Subject: Collaborative Design/Development Opportunity
I am currently in advanced negotiations with an agency to set-up and run a team of freelancers to handle a large and regular flow of outsourced design and development work.
I am intending to use this arrangement as the launchpad to get further agencies onboard to provide the team with a substantial amount of regular work, while still giving them the freedom to pursue their own projects and retaining, at all times, their freelance status.
They are looking at at least 30 days work in total per month, over the next 12 months, for what will be an ongoing agreement.
While I will be looking at getting HTML/XML/Javascript/CSS developers onboard shortly (though feel free to get in touch now if your interested). I am keen to talk to designers asap.
The design work will start at concept and online branding and will go on to include artworking and graphics production (possibly - related print materials). As well as static design and graphics work, Flash development will form a substantial proportion of the workflow and Flash expertise would be a very useful skill.
The agency concerned have high design standards. Therefore I am looking for UK-based designers with strong portfolios and preferably some design qualifications or education behind them.
I have already had some interest but am keen to hear from as many interested parties as there are.
Please email me asap if you are interested.
Gavin Barrett
