Worry about NN6!? I don't think so, looking at my user stats (%) over the
last couple of Months....
Explorer 5.0 - 77.49
Netscape 4.0 - 8.86
Explorer 4.0 - 8.12
AOL 5 - 1.85
Explorer 2.0 - 1.48
Netscape 3.0 - 1.48
Netscape 6.0 - 0.74
Don't want to start a browser war, but it is a) so crap b) so little used
I've given up testing in it already. Making NN4.x work is bad enough IMHO

Subject: FN-FORUM Netscape 6 & Flash & HTML errors
Hi All,
Ok, I have waited a while before I said this as I wanted to be sure of my
facts and Macromedia have been looking into the errors but so far MM and NN
have not solved them.
I work with many different programs and platforms and also write about new
program releases, whilst testing some new Flash principles I noticed
inconsistent results when testing on Netscape 6. This should not be so as
the Flash plugin should embed the Flash movie (swf) into the page and the
swf should play the same on IE and NN (I am talking about a basic movie here
with no external commands).
I was chatting with one of the developers at MM and they said they are fully
aware of these errors and are working with NN to get around them, last night
I installed the most recent versions of NN and Flash plugin and the errors
still exist. I advise installing NN 6 and checking your sites to see if you
need to make any minor tweaks or adjustments - irrespective of the usual NN
alterations that are required ;-)
I have not had the time to check all HTML sites with NN 6 and I guess there
are no new problems there but it does not hurt to try.
I could type for hours about this but I won't bore you ;-) this is just
meant as a 'heads up' to those who are not aware of the new conflicts.
If you want to know more or have any questions feel free to email me rather
than clogging up the list.
Regards,
Rog.
