Hi Williw

SQL is simply the language spoken by most databases (although like all
languages there are variations, eg Jet - Access, T-SQL - SQL Server,
PL-SQL - Oracle). So a SQL database is just one that uses SQL.

MySQL is simply an open source database which competes against Access for
running low end data driven websites (I'm sure that ppl will now point out
examples of MySQL running parts of the NASA space programme etc etc).
