Client / server time zone resolution

Have any of you done any scripting to take account of the time zone
differences between the client browser and the server?

I've been looking for a way to present log information to UK browsers using
dates timestamped by a US server. The obvious way to do it would be to post
the current system time of the client browser as part of the logon and
remember the difference between that and the server, rounded to the nearest
hour. Is there an easier way, such as picking up the time on the client
from one of the page headers?
