Seems like a better bet would be to post the dates and times in the logfile
in an unabiguous way such as:
2001/07/16 18:28 GMT
Or even:
16 July 2001 6:28pm GMT
Considerably easier than attempting to translate the log file every time
it's viewed.
You could even add a line at the top of the log view showing what the
present time is GMT so that viewers could compare that to their own
timezone.
Be warned - timezones are tricky buggers. Getting the users time to the
nearest hour isn't enough. There are some timezones out there that are
offset by half an hour as well.
