RE: Boot Disks

(yeeech ... so many mails to catch up on .... anyway...)
On the subject of Boot Disks of the windoze variety, the Win95 one is pretty
useless as it doesn't integrate from the gitgo with a CD (indeed, when I
accidentally trashed someone's installation on a visit to the USA in '96 I
had to go out and purchase a full Win95 on floppy to repair the damage -
even though we plenty of CDs!), however...
The *Win98* bootdisk is a far more useful beast as it can load a range of CD
drives (has an auto-seek for right driver) and creates a RAM disk with
useful programs on it, including FDISK which may be needed to reformat the
HD. Better still of course is Partition Magic on floppy so that you can
repartition without losing stuff you may want already on the HD.

ps. I got really shocked yesterday when I discovered how cheap RAM has
become! I remember the first extra chip I bought some years ago (a 16Mb
SIMM) was over £350, and now 256Mb DIM is around £45 !!!
pps. Ink - I make my own Sushi and have done for some years now. Ikura
Gunkan and Lobster & Avocado Handrolls are probably my favs but california
rolls always have their place as do good Sashimi.
