Re: FN-FORUM Agencies, bloody agencies
date posted 1st August 2001 13:52
We are working on behalf of piper group and have experienced this lack of
response from agencies first hand. My contact on piper creative recruitment
(www.pipercreative.co.uk) gets a couple of hundred speculative emails a day
from prospective job seekers via the website and physically cannot reply
everyone.
I am lucky if I get a phone back from these people and I am on their
payroll!
When you send your CV to an agency you should accept the chance that they
may not get back to you in the same way that occasionally they may phone you
and have a job for you.
I know this isn't ideal but until there is one person dedicated to replying
to emails you are going to get this.
We are implementing an auto responder mailer off the back of any
registration forms which at least gets an introductory email out as apposed
to waiting for someone to physically reply.
Personally I despise some of the agencies I work with (not piper!) and am
appalled by their incompetance but on the same vein would not object to a
little brown nosing to score a few jobs and to get back to my agency
contracting rates (kerrrrr-ching).
