RE: FN-FORUM flash 'load movie' problem
date posted 1st August 2001 17:21
Has it been fixed? It seems to be working OK to me (PC IE5.5, Opera 5.12 and
NS 4.7 56k modem I checked it in all) There is some delay at the beginning
though but it doesn't seem more than a few seconds certainly not an
excessively long wait. I think a simple three frame preloader with a
flashing text movie clip might improve it though, certainly doesn't need
anything more complex.
On the London page I am getting
LONDON
MAP>
Which I assume is intentional though could I suppose be taken as an error
and could be better done using a proper arrow symbol of some kind.

Subject: FN-FORUM flash 'load movie' problem
Hi all,
I have been dumped with a flash problem as the flash team are away and today
is the launch day for the site...clever aye?
anyway, they have done the scenes as 'loadmovie' which I presume is done to
make loading quicker? One of the onloads doesn't load the first time it is
selected to, however it does the second...any ideas? The site is
http://www.portfoliodesign.net and the problem resides when you select the
London location.
Also, if you view it in netscape on the mac, there is a font mapping
problem...any ideas around this. Instead of the text intended to be viewed,
you simply get what wappears to be like html code.
The Flash version is 5.0
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm gonna get my ass kicked if I
don't fix this baby!!!
