Andrew - did you not see the earlier postings from myself and others
regarding drivers ?! See below - this would hopefully sort out the problem

You need to check that you have the correct monitor and graphics drivers
configured - if you're being limited to 16 colours it sounds like you only
have something like VGA drivers running.
Assuming we're talking Windows and not MAC, right click on your desk top and
select properties. Choose the Settings tab and then click on Advanced.
This should give you menu tabs to choose Monitor and Graphics Adapter and
you can check from there to see what you're using.
If it looks like you're using the wrong drivers, you would need to use the
troubleshoot guide or choose update driver and hope that Windows finds the
correct one for you.
