An aside to your aside. I've always said that I'm English on my CV.
Perhaps that's why I have a shite job ;-)

if i remember correctly all shops in a country are legally obliged to
take
currency from that nations bank and no other (they can take other
nations
currency at their discretion) with a few exceptions in the case of small
change. now scotland has 3 banks that provide its currency (BofS, RBS
and
clydesdale) while both england and wales come under the BofE.
its a uniquely UK situation as in typical british fashion its more
forrest
gump then gilbraithe.
interesting point with the £20 note though, i wonder how many people
could
spot a fake scottish note? i can usually spot a BofE forgery, but
wouldnt be
so sure with a scottish one.
bit of an aside, there was a bloke who was fined for having called
himself
english on his census form and it was decided that english was not a
valid
ethnic group, does this mean we now get rid of the english, welsh and
scottish footie teams and have a british one(irish was acceptable)?
giggsy
and beckham on the same national team, suddenly doing well in the world
cup
doesnt so far fetched! :)
