RE: FN-FORUM Re-register Dll's - AKA Don't install drivers when drunk!

Generally speaking you should just be able to install the driver again,
this time saying 'yes' to the query and it'll work. Whenever I install a
new driver I create a copy of main user profile (you'll find 'em under
the System Properties control panel) and if it goes tits-up I just
revert back to the original. Another possibility if you're running an NT
based OS (might be in Win9x series - can't remember) is to hit F8 during
boot and choose the 'last known good configuration option'

Subject: FN-FORUM Re-register Dll's - AKA Don't install drivers when
drunk!
Morning folks,
This one is probably for Kathy or someone of her ilk.
I was re-installing my video driver the other night, after copious
amounts
of lager, when I accidentally said no instead of yes in "do you want to
keep
the newer, installed DLL".
Now, half my programs don't work because devices are in use or the link
to
msvcrt.dll__xxx____xxx___xxx doesn't' exist. I think that the file that
I
overwrote was msvp60.dll. There isn't much on MS's site on this.
Do I need to go reinstalling all the programs that don't work, or would
I be
best off just blatting the PC and starting again?
Cheers
Martin "sober - at the moment" Kellie
