Almost all (maybe all) Windows programs work this way. It's all to do with
file associations.types and is what allow you to double-click on a document
and get it to open in the right app. Of course, it shouldn't have to work
this way..., but on the other hand, since you can have double extensions or
use double quotes if you need to change from the default, why is it a big
deal?
