Re: FN-FORUM monitor

... and yesterday I returned a monitor to Dabs, making the strike rate
between 50 & 75% correct completed purchase out of four (see below)
But they *have* sorted out their returns process - log on, claim an rma
number, arrange collection, confirmed by e mail. About a week turnround
from claim to delivered replacement, which is about as fast as you could
expect.
I used to use Jungle/ Software warehouse - prices not so good now
they're owned by GUS - and the returns process is horrible - they insist
on doing it by phone, which means loads of musak while on hold. Send
them an e mail asking for a return, & they'll call you. If they miss
you, they leave a message to call them back. I've got one piece of kit
that's been sitting here for months -I've given up trying to get it back
to them.

that dabs history in detail...
- pc arrived with network card instead of modem (fortunately I'd copied
the spec page, which proved that I got the spec right)
- scsi cd writer delivered instead of usb
- dead monitor (sort of not their fault - it was 'B' stock, so not quite
shrink wrapped by the manufacturer, but supposedly as new except for
packaging) - it died after 4 hours of perfect operation
- and a 3d graphics card - right card, still working - fitted myself - v
smug for a non-tecchie
