Performance testing a web site
date posted 24th January 2002 19:16
Couple of questions I don't know the answer to
1. In windows XP running IIS, is there a standard screen somewhere which
shows the number of open links and the amount of data served? If there
is no such admin feature then is there a package which will do this?
2. Is there an application which allows a server to be "pummeled" with
1000's of requests very quickly? I would want to run this test locally
over a network.
As an ASP programmer I am used to unit testing the code, functions and
checking the HTML. I'm a bit concerned now that in certain situations
the site can take a barrage of abuse particularly when it is advertised
on TV.
Thank you for you help
