Dear Giles
I actually quite like the Flash intro (even if I'm not a fan of the =
'skool(ish)' font :->). Still don't like the fact that your site takes =
over my entire screen (sorry, but I'm just being honest here), but at =
least there's a way out (!). Check out your [music on/off] and [skip =
intro] buttons: they didn't work with my browser (IE6).
On to your Home Page: Nice welcome/intro but confusing when it comes to: =
"We do not design the website. You do." You then go on to offer a full =
web-design package (esp. within your 'Design' page)! To get round this =
slight ambiguity, you could just add 'necessarily: "We do not =
'necessarily design the website. You do."
=20
The [special offer] link didn't work either.=20
Giles, there's a lot of spelling mistakes, especially on your 'design' =
page - eg, "Our design *process* (should be process) is flexible", =
*webpackages* (two words!), *themself* (try himself/herself), =
*suplementary* (should be supplementary), *orby* ('or by'?)... and it =
goes on. Sorry to be negative, but if you want to give prospective =
clients an impression of professionalism and competence, you really do =
need to at least run a spell-checker over your work. =20
By the way, I can't remember anyone saying how bad a designer you =
were/are. You're not. This forum is here to help people out, and if that =
means giving honest advice/criticism, then surely it's got to be =
constructive and helpful to your overall goals as a web designer.=20
Don't give up, you might only be 16, but you're already a much better =
designer than I'll ever be (I'm more of a word person, really) - and if =
you want a laugh and a bit of a morale booster, just email me off list =
and I'll let you see my v.strange and sad site that I'm currently =
attempting to put together :-)
All the best,
Tracey :-)
