Andy,
With whom exactly have you registered your trading name and the fact that
you're self-employed, I presume Inland Revenue want to know but is there
anyone else?

I'm self-employed.
I have a trading name.
It means that "doing the accounts" means
keeping one box for receipts (money out),
and one box for invoices (money in).
At the end of the year,
you derive the difference,
and that's how much money you made.
That's it.
So, it's very simple,
but very hard to avoid tax if you're making a fair whack.
Also, if you work for big companies,
they may make you sign all sorts of terms and conditions.
If this happens, then being limited, in some form,
is the only way to (e.g.)
avoid losing your house if your software doesn't work !!!
