Hi,
What is going on is wildcard DNS. Basically DNS can be configured to
resolve anyhing thing under anderson.uk,com to your domain. For example
[EMAIL REMOVED] rf]$ host thisisalongnameforexample.anderson.uk.com
thisisalongnameforexample.anderson.uk.com is a nickname for
anderson.uk.com
anderson.uk.com has address 208.231.6.79
So this show why people are getting the name look ups. So what about the
website? Well actually it is something similar in that it is possible to
configure Apache (and most likely IIS though I don't know for sure) to map
every request for your domain to your webspace.
Basically no-one has done anything bad and it is working exactly as it was
implemented.
